LAKE CONSTRUCTION
Based upon previous lake construction at Steve Morgan’s fishing complex, Orchard Place, Pope Plant Ltd priced proposed works during the summer with a view to mobilising late September.
The preferred construction time for lakes is during summer time but is the busiest season for anglers. As heavy plant was required to work in close proximity to existing established lakes previously built by Pope’s, it was acknowledged as the best time to begin works. This meant a very tight timescale to complete construction before the inclement weather arrived.
The works comprised of:
- Stripping top soil in landscaped area and shaping two stock ponds enhancing the habitat for ecology purpose
- The works involved a cut/fill operation whilst also extending an established lake still full of water
- The material from extension was utilised within the embankments of the new ponds, then restored with top soil and seeded
Works were complete with 1 day to spare before heavy rain arrived.

Been a bit of a rush preparing this one
Apart from the hand painted counterweight it’s pretty clean
No time to rub down, fill and spray properly as off to work next week.
Full service inc Hepa filters fitted for the soil treatment facility it’s off to next week in Hertfordshire
Street pads came off nicely leaving like new grousers on the track pads👍
