RESTORATION CONTRACT FOR HANSON AGGREGATES
Pope Plant Ltd was awarded the restoration contract at Park Pit Quarry after the closure of Hanson quarrying activity in Tapwood Quarry on the other side of the A25 where we completed restoration in 2014.
The land was to be handed back to the estate owner upon completion of restoration.
The contract consisted of constructing an access track around the perimeter of the quarry using remaining sand on site.
The track slopes had to be covered with supplied Geo-Cell blanket and cells filled with sand for stability purpose.
Demolition work of the old pump house could be completed once tracks were constructed and outfall pipe to Shagbrook installed.
The quarry was then allowed to flood for recreational purpose by the land owner.

Been a bit of a rush preparing this one
Apart from the hand painted counterweight it’s pretty clean
No time to rub down, fill and spray properly as off to work next week.
Full service inc Hepa filters fitted for the soil treatment facility it’s off to next week in Hertfordshire
Street pads came off nicely leaving like new grousers on the track pads👍
