Following on from extensive works at the Suez site in Runfold in 2017 for Red Materials Ltd, as part of an on-going project of Cell Engineering, GCL Capping and Restoration works, Pope Plant Ltd mobilised to site to carry out Clay engineering lift No.2 within Area C.
The works comprised of a 2m lift in 250mm clay layers, installed to the horizontal, Rolled, Tested to meet spec and trimmed back to avoid using Non-Hazardous imported material void space.
Once trimmed back the clay leaves a minimum 1.1m clay barrier against the sand Quarry face.
The works were completed within 2 weeks in preparation for EA approval.
