Pope Plant Ltd were awarded the capping works at Shelford Landfill for Viridors in early March 2022
The works were awarded based on pricing and the good relationship struck in 2021 on the same site with particular attention to H&S, management of the works and programming.
The contract soon changed on site to a long haul requiring several ADT’s and working in close proximity to Gas drilling infrastructure works.
Works consisted of clay capping part of the site and membrane the remainder once clay had run out.
During the works, Viridor sold its landfill operations and site personnel changed but Pope Plant Ltd continued the works for Valencia the new owners until everything was completed including additions.
