Clay Mineral Cap & GCL Capping

Pope Plant Ltd was hired on a day work basis to cap the slopes of the landfill with a clay mineral site derived material.

The works comprised of moving circa 10’000m3 of clay on a long haul under the CQA supervision from Terraconsult Ltd.

The clay was placed in 250mm layers and compacted with vibrating padfoot roller to achieve the required testing specification.

Once the clay stockpiles were exhausted it was the preferred route of Cory’s to install 15’000m2 of GCL capping to the crown of the landfill. The area was regulated and compacted in preparation for installing the GCL. This part of the works was carried out on a price work basis.

Been a bit of a rush preparing this one
Apart from the hand painted counterweight it’s pretty clean
No time to rub down, fill and spray properly as off to work next week.
Full service inc Hepa filters fitted for the soil treatment facility it’s off to next week in Hertfordshire
Street pads came off nicely leaving like new grousers on the track pads👍
