Clay wall construction

Off the back of recently completed works at Albury Sandpit, Pope Plant Ltd was asked to complete the clay wall engineering at Runfold LFS.

The main works were carried out by another contractor during the summer but works were halted due to Sand Martins nesting in one area of sand quarry face.

Plant was available locally from completing Albury works and mobilised to complete Runfold clay barrier.

Site derived clay was placed in 250mm layers and compacted by padfoot roller to achieve the height required for inert material infilling by SITA.

Sometimes Pope Plant need to cross hire machines in to complete the jobs to a high standard and in this job this was required.  Their many accounts with various companies enables them to do this.

“Plant was available locally from completing Albury works and mobilised to complete Runfold clay barrier.”

“Pope Plant Ltd.’s works did not compromise the health and safety of site staff and there
were no notifiable accidents or incidents. Pope Plant Ltd.’s performance and attitude
towards the work undertaken received positive feedback from the client/s.”

Been a bit of a rush preparing this one
Apart from the hand painted counterweight it’s pretty clean
No time to rub down, fill and spray properly as off to work next week.
Full service inc Hepa filters fitted for the soil treatment facility it’s off to next week in Hertfordshire
Street pads came off nicely leaving like new grousers on the track pads👍
